Royalty: Tremendous Edinburgh Crystal Rose Bowl. Produced by the Royal Mint especially to celebrate the centenary year of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. The delicately engraved motif of bows and lions alludes to the arms and family name of the Queen Mother, whilst the inscription featured on the front marks her centenary, etched "Celebrating the Centenary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother 1900-2000." Only 5" wide, the bowl comes in a regal purple presentation box. Only 1,000 pieces were produced. $400.00

Royalty: 5-1/2" x 4-7/8" wooden plaque with heavy brass insignia, Cut out design silhouettes two figures with crowns. Incused in the brass: "George VII and Queen Mary 1911". Top part is a loop indicating perhaps the brass piece was worn around the neck or hung from something, or perhaps was part of a door knocker. Brass part is 3-3/4" x 2-3/4" and varies between 1/16" & 1/8" thick. Words are difficult to read showing wear. $35.00

The Island republic's "hot seat" is called the garrotte. It is seen here in Morro Castle Prison, when it underwent inspection by Cl. Fulgencio Batista, dictator. The Garrotte is an iron stool on which the condemned man sits. The neck of the victim is fastened in the iron band and the executioner than goes to work by tigntening the band around the neck, until the spine breaks.
