A great photo of Pendexter poising on the sidewalk in front of a home, dressed in suit (knickerbockers), wild tie, saddle shoes, cap on his head, smoking a cigarette. A classic, stylish 1920's picture. Hugh Pendexter was an American novelist and screenwriter who wrote fiction (mainly historical novels and westerns) primarily in the 1920s and 1930s. $45.00

Western: Collection of dozens of 6" x 3-3/4" negatives (over 150 total) of scenes from western states, primarily Idaho and Washington, most appearing to be from the late 1890s to near the 1920's era. Copper Basin, Indian head Rock, men on horseback, one or two of Indians, stagecoaches & wagons, cabins, men & women dressed up, marching band, a few with old automobiles. Miscellaneous lot. Anyone with a dark room might find some enjoyment developing photos from some of these negatives. $20.00

Western: Typed death bed statement of Walter Alkire, Aug 4, 1903, notarized in Madison County, Montana, 2 pages, legal-sized. "I fear that I, at this time in danger of immediate death from my wound and believe that it will be fatal..." It continues with a long detailed explanation of drinking, scuffling around, and then all hell broke loose!! The other gentleman tried to smash him with a chair, then he seized a pick. It was taken away from him, then they moved on to another place, taking two bottles of beer, but Sheley (the perp) was on the war path, a gun was drawn and Walter was shot. Walter regained consiousness and was shot two or three more times. Walter was kicked and there was shooting all around! As Walter was laying there the "perp" tried to shoot him in the head, but his gun was empty. A lot more to this story of how things went in the wild state of Montana at the turn of the century. "I am about to undergo an operation and I am much afraid of the results. In the immediate expectation of death I make this statement and affirm that it is true." $100.00

Western: (post card) Great Nevada Divorce post card by Robert Foster postmarked Reno, 1932. Caricature of judge on the bench, in powdered wig, couple in front of bench pulling on a huge ring in opposite directions so it is broken at the top. "The Cure" is on ring, "Six Weeks in Nevada" at top of card. Stack of divorce papers in one corner, stack of marriage papers in the other. Tip of upper left corner has bend, otherwise fine. $25.00
