Tool: Cobbler's tools. The complete supply of various shoe and bootlasts or wooden forms used by cobbler Fred Burkhardt, Accident, Maryland, circa 1890s-1920s. The wooden lasts show great variety, with samples for men's, women's and children's shoes plus some bootstretcher parts. Many of the wooden lasts show usage indicated by the very small holes particularly on the bottoms. Many of the lasts are made of chestnut; believe the stretchers are maple. Some forms are 2-part and you'll probably find both parts included. Complete with a good deal of variety in shapes and sizes...ready to roll up your sleeves and start making shoes! 60 pieces total!!
